[How do I use the Forum?]

How do I use the Forum?  
You will need to register first by selecting a user name and password.  You must log in to post comments on the forum, however you do not have to register or be logged in to view topic threads.  Talk about anything you like: the weather, your classes, MYC meetings, study topics, cafeteria food, you name it.  The number one rule is that you respect others and their opinions.

This new forum allows for greater personalization of your messages than the site we used last year, and you can now embed FTP links, tables, and Flash files into your messages. I’m not an expert on any of these functions, but I can relay any question you have about using these features to our webmaster for further explanation.

Do I have to be a Mayor’s Youth Council member to join?
No, anyone can join a public forum so don’t be surprised if you see some outside opinions and ideas brought to the conversations.  I think the forum will likely consist primarily of MYC members at first, that is at least until members start inviting others to the conversations.  I think as you move forward in your study groups you will want feedback and interaction from your peers and this is a good place to collect information and opinions from others.
 
How do I report abuse of the forum?
If you feel a post or comment placed on the forum has inappropriate content, please bring it to my attention immediately. Inappropriate content would include, but is not limited to: vulgar or obscene language, threats of any kind, spam, or pornographic images.  If any such activity occurs on the site, please report it right away. Reports of abuse will remain confidential unless it is determined that both parties participated in the abuse.  As the Forum Moderator I will take each claim seriously and will make every effort to remove offensive posts as soon as possible.  Keep in mind that I may also suspend or revoke user accounts if necessary.
